SOON AFTER (2014)

Here the CPU fans are hanging freely and moving on their own accord. The knives, connected to the fans make drawings in the sand, reflecting the movement trajectory . Some sand falls off the shelves, down on the ceramic amorphous lump, made partially of this sand itself.

Free-hanging fans swing in the air hitting and pushing each other; the space is filled with their rattle. As they move around banging into each other, some hover at a point of equilibrium, others keep fighting until their blades break and fall to the floor.

What Has Become of Alba

This black box is a contemplation on the fate of Alba – the GFP bunny. Every cell in Alba's body expressed the  Green Fluorescent Protein. Now when she's long dead and burried, does her skeleton still glow green I wonder?  Or - would it be still gloing green when she is on display in the future Museum of Human History as a representative of early 21st century art?

This is a black box with a peeping hole. Inside is  a rabbit skeleton glowing green in the dark. Every now  and then the light turns on inside the box and the skeleton is visible in detail for a few seconds.

"One can even set up quite ridiculous cases. A cat is penned up in a steel chamber, along with the following device (which must be secured against direct interference by the cat): in a Geiger counter, there is a tiny bit of radioactive substance, so small, that perhaps in the course of the hour one of the atoms decays, but also, with equal probability, perhaps none; if it happens, the counter tube discharges and through a relay releases a hammer that shatters a small flask of hydrocyanic acid. If one has left this entire system to itself for an hour, one would say that the cat still lives if meanwhile no atom has decayed. The psi-function of the entire system would express this by having in it the living and dead cat (pardon the expression) mixed or smeared out in equal parts."

The Singing Lump - or - What I Learned About Enthropy from the Wikipedia

How does the concept of enthropy coincide with evolution of complexity?

Some think streamlining evolution, others - creationism.

How did this lump become a lump? And why is it singing? It might be the one skill it picked at the scrap yard of human culture.

-- Erwin Schrödinger, Die gegenwärtige Situation in der Quantenmechanik (The present situation in quantum mechanics), Naturwissenschaften (translated by John D. Trimmer in Proceedings of the American Philosophical Society)

This work is a spatial sketch which contemplates alternative futures recycling fragments of science fiction and steam punk.  What is to become  of the machines and the creatures we design, once we - as humans aren't here to control their function? In this imagined time and space products of our civilization evolve into a different life form, and place the relics of human culture in a history museum.
